Our Community

St Joseph’s is strongly connected to our local community. We work in partnership with a range of community organisations which help support our students and our families. Many of our partnerships for students can be seen under the extra-curricular activities on this website. These include Circus Oz, Smith Family (Homework Club and student2student reading), ACU (Psychology and Speech Therapy students) and Polyglot (5678 Film Making Club).

Our parents are also well supported through Carringbush (Literacy Classes) and the City of Yarra (Tuning into Teens and Playgroup).

Our Community Engagement Leader sits on a range of committees to work with others to create positive opportunities for our students.

We also provide opportunities to engage our families in their children’s learning. Learning Expos and engagement activities occur throughout the year. We have a take home reading scheme. The Bendigo Bank and Invotec also support Book sharing sessions where children are able to increase the number of books in homes.
